"The first duty of a human being is to assume the right functional relationship to society -- more briefly, to find your real job, and do it." - Charlotte Perkins Gilman

"Commitment, by its nature, frees us from ourselves and, while it stands us in opposition to some, it joins us with others similarly committed. Commitment moves us from the mirror trap of the self absorbed with the self to the freedom of a community of shared values." - Michael Lewis

"A community is like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm." - Henrik Ibsen

"I have inherited a belief in community, the promise that a gathering of the spirit can both create and change culture. In the desert, change is nurtured even in stone by wind, by water, through time" - Terry Tempest Williams

Get on your blue suede shoes and poodle skirt, 'cause we're stepping into the '50s for our first SAPPD fundraiser!

All proceeds go towards San Antonio Pagan Pride Day 2010.

This event is adults only. Tickets are $10.00 if you buy them at the SAPPD Sock Hop page via Paypal. They're $12.00 at the door. Tickets are non-refundable.

A $5 donation gets you a personal photo to bring home of you and that special someone!
Food will be at the '50s price, so please bring some cash. It will be after-dinner fare - popcorn, shakes and sodas.
We're having a costume contest, so reach deep into that closet or thrift shop and get creative!

Thanks to J's Magic Graphics Galleries for the decorations!
