"Nothing is sweet or easy about community. Community is a fellowship of people who do not hide their joys and sorrows but make them visible to each other in a gesture of hope." - Henri Nouwen

"Commitment, by its nature, frees us from ourselves and, while it stands us in opposition to some, it joins us with others similarly committed. Commitment moves us from the mirror trap of the self absorbed with the self to the freedom of a community of shared values." - Michael Lewis

The Lycian Tradition of Wicca

Bio: I am a native Texan raised in a Roman Catholic family, at least until I was twelve, which is when I began looking for something else; not another family or state, just another religion. I become a Atheistic Existentialist and remained so until I was twenty, when I changed my mind and became a Pantheistic Pagan as a result of some deep questioning and because, in large part, my previous worldview was causing me to become suicidal (being an Atheistic Existentialist with a touch of Nihilism throw in for good measure is damn depressing; just an FYI).

I left the Navy and became a Freemason, achieving the 32nd degree when I was twenty-seven. I then figured, damned if you do and damned if you don't, so what the Hel, I joined a ceremonial magick circle the same year and remained a member of it until I was thirty-six. I became Wiccan as a result of my researches into Freemasonry, at the age of twenty-eight. I was initiated into the Lycian Tradition of Wicca when I was thirty. I was ordained, in this same Tradition, and began my first coven when I was thirty-four. This coven remained together for eleven years. I took a break from coven work for two years and have now started a second coven.

My one article of faith is this: "I believe Nature is divine and its laws are consistent and ultimately knowable."
